This unique and fast growing city is located in three counties: Harris, Fort Bend, and Waller. It has a population of approximately 16,000 and is 25 miles west of downtown Houston.

The City of Katy was incorporated as a municipality in 1945, and up until 1896, it was known as Cane Island.
