Richmond is the county seat of Fort Bend County, perfectly located on the Brazos River and only 15 miles from Houston. This lovely community has approximately 12,000 residents and borders Sugar Land and Rosenberg.

The city was established in 1937, and before the Civil War, this area was the center for ranching and cattle.

Places to visit in Richmond include the John Moore Home, Long-Smith Cottage, McFarlane Visitors Center, their historical courthouse, and Fort Bend Historical Museum.
